Owners of the popular Kia Telluride SUV are being advised to park their vehicles outside due to a fire hazard. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V430-6699.pdf) Kia is recalling 462,869 Telluride SUVs from the 2020 through 2025 model years over the issue.

Documents shared by the NHTSA show the recall stems from a problem with the front power seat side cover and/or seat slide k**b. If those are hit with excessive force, it can cause the power seat switch to become dislodged, misaligned or damaged.

Due to the intense heat, the city of Lewes has abbreviated the July 4 parade known for its creativity, humor, costumes, and community participation. The lineup will now only be on Manila Avenue for the 5 p.m. start. Those who are not on Manila Avenue in time will be turned away, according to organizers.. The parade route will end at the end of Second Street, like the town's annual Christmas parade. The boat parade in the Lewes-Rehoboth canal is still taking place at 2 p.m.

The Town of Milton has canceled its "Bring Mayberry Back to Milton" Fourth of July festival, which had been scheduled for Saturday. The event was set to include games, a bike parade, a balloon fight and other family activities. Organizers said they canceled the festival because of the expected extreme heat.

In Bethany Beach, officials postponed the town's annual Independence Day parade, originally scheduled for Friday. The town still plans to host a Zac Brown tribute concert by Uncaged at the bandstand at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by a fireworks show at dusk.

In Dewey Beach, Wednesday night's bonfire was canceled because of unfavorable beach conditions and high winds. The town said it plans to resume its summer events next week with a movie night on July 6 and another bonfire on July 8.
