As we start wrapping up Season 6 at New Bridge Marina, we are pleased to announce the sale of the Marina and upland properties to Northgate Resorts, owners of Yogi Bear Jellystone Park: Lakes Region right across the Pond.
We've had a great working relationship with Jellystone and its campers renting Pontoon boats and coming over for ice cream every Summer. I can't think of a better fit for further upgrades and amenities at the Marina to continue what Billy and I started 6 years ago.
We'd like to thank the Town of Lebanon for embracing our vision for the Marina and our neighbors for their patience while we went through the construction phase. Carol Estes and Beth Goudreau at Bangor Savings Bank for their support. Thanks to our Marina Members who are always in a good mood (boating brings out the best in people), our customers at the launch ramp and ice cream shop. Thanks to our service customers who helped us grow from 25 to almost 200 boats for winter storage, and even more for winterization and shrink wrap (thanks Adam Doliber for your help). We grew the pontoon fleet from 3 old, underpowered, aging boats to 8 new Sweetwater 20's.
None of this would have been possible with out Billy Mahoney , the "Mayor". Billy is the first of 6 of us Mahoney's and grew up taking things apart and "souping" them up! Started with mini bikes, dirt bikes, muscle cars and found his calling on outboard motors up in the Lake region 35 years ago. I've never seen anyone work harder than Billy, he was at the Marina 7 days a week all summer constantly taking calls and saving countless people from engine breakdowns. He over saw the construction projects, delivered boats, managed the chaos during the 4th of July weekends, new dock installations and has always been there to help out our neighbors and customers. There is always someone on the Team that continuously "shows up" and that is what Billy has done for 6 years. Special thanks go out to our behind the scenes team: Logan Mahoney our Dockmaster/ Pontoon Boat Rentals, Brendan Burke, IT and CFO, and Spencer Mahoney Marketing Consultant, Will Mahoney Drone Pilot and Boat Shrink Wrapper!
The Marina came to my attention while looking at a 1962 Chris Craft Coronado on Milton 3 Ponds being sold by Gary Michaels (one of the top antique boat restorers on the East Coast). As we drove by the Marina, I took a few pictures from the lake and sent them to Billy and asked "do you want to buy this Marina?" He drove over and a few hours later we had it under agreement. That started our journey into creating New Bridge Marina. We developed a plan based on needs: parking was non existent for the launch ramp, there was no shop, the docks were sinking, the house needed to be upgraded, electricity needed upgrades. It took us 4 years to complete all of the projects and it was very rewarding to see the project grow every year.
We are grateful for the warm welcome the Milton 3 Ponds community has extended to us. Our Family (4 generations have stayed at the property) including our Mother getting to take her last boat ride with us at 91.
