A sport made popular by such movies as "Easy Rider, Wild One, and On Any Sunday" depicted motorcycle riders as free spirits and rebels. Today, the face of motorcycle riders has taken on a new look. What was once a past-time dominated by men has finally evolved. Motorcycle

riders have often been stereotyped as daredevils and gangs with criminal elements. Not so, according to most motorcycle enthusiasts. The new era of riders now includes women from all walks of life, backgrounds and professions. Gone are the days of women only riding behind their male counterpart. Many women not only ride but own their own motorcycles. A vast number of them are choosing to ride Harley-Davidson® motorcycles that are customarily ridden by men, such as Softails, Fat Boys, Road Kings and the like. So, what kind of women ride motorcycles? Daring, Intelligent, Vivacious & Assertive
Dynamic, Intrepid, Valiant, & Aggressive
Dominating, Independent, Vibrant & Audacious
Divine, Intellectual, Voluptuous & Attractive

We've been in this lane for 30+ years. Yes and we still rollin'. Some of you know what I'm talking about. 😉

Here are just a few important things to remember...
[ ] Service your motorcycle before a long trip
[ ] Wash your own motorcycle and check it thoroughly (Fluids, Tire pressure and tread)
[ ] Make sure your Motorcycle Registration, Insurance and Towing information is up-to-date and in your bike.
[ ] Ride out the 1st tank before stopping (150-200 miles)
[ ] Fill up before your tank reaches 1/4 empty. There are areas of the country where gas stations are now closed or 50+ miles apart.
[ ] Plan your ride but be flexible. There are many variables that may necessitate alternate plans but try to stick to a schedule.
[ ] If you plan to ride 500-700 miles a day you will need to maximize your riding time. Gas stops (15 minutes) & Lunch stops (1 hour)
[ ] Carry a map (Learn how to read it.)
[ ] Always know where you are (Pay attention to Mile Markers)
[ ] Ride your skill level
[ ] Ride with like riders
[ ] Avoid riding at night. You can't avoid what you can't see (Ride Sun up to Sun down.)
[ ] Rest when you are fatigued.
[ ] Stay hydrated
[ ] Do not over eat when riding
[ ] Pack light. All weather gear is essential (Do not over pack your motorcycle)
[ ] Wear the appropriate safety gear (Helmet, jacket, boots and gloves)
[ ] Carry emergency medical information on your person or in your helmet.
[ ] Carry your medication with you along with a list.
[ ] Carry a First Aid Kit (You may not need it but you could help save someone's elses life)
[ ] Share your route with a select few family members and friends in case of an emergency.
[ ] Stay on main highways and familiar roads if you are traveling alone.
[ ] Stop at safe locations that provide gas food and lodging in one convenient area.
[ ] Post to social media after you depart a location only.
[ ] Enjoy the ride and take lots of photos and videos.
[ ] Carry tools (Better to have them and not need them.)
[ ] Carry zip ties, duct tape and bungee cords. Be prepared.
[ ] Use common sense and listen to your intuition. If in doubt - Don't!
