I guess it’s time we start talking about the 2026 VWs At The Springs right? Can you believe that this marks the 10 year anniversary for us being in Lava?
None of this could have been possible with out all of you who attend and our amazing host campground Lava Mobile Estates Campground.

No I’m not talking about significant others, we’re talking parts. Every year we get asked about this so I decided to make a post. You are more than welcome to set up a little swap spot in your camp area as long as it’s Volkswagen items, we don’t want this to turn into a flea market.

The annual Saturday night pot luck has been a staple of this event since the VWs At The Barn era. This has never been your average pot luck of bags of chips and grocery store deli food. We have always asked that people bring family favorite trays and you guys have not disappointed. From Lumpia, to homemade ribs, to pazole, and you can’t forget about famous tri-tip. All of this is finger licking good, and you might see the tradition of licking chads cutting board at the end of the pot luck.
As always the eating will begin as close to 6pm Saturday night as we can get it. Remember, to join you need to bring some form of food or drink to share even if it’s just something from the grocery store.

VWs At The Springs founder spotlight pt. 2

Cody, Kenzie, and Amelia.
We started with the idea of a campout about 14 years ago as a way to spend the full weekend with our friends after the Volkswagen Invasion show. The two events later joined to create VWs At The Barn, which then moved to Lava Hot Springs to become the event you all know now.
We sold both or our original paint beetles after last years event to pursue what we will be bringing this year. A low mile, fully original Canadian deluxe 59 beetle. You are for sure to find us wondering the event, taking people floating on the river or just shooting the s**t in the shade somewhere. As always Amelia will be walking around hustling this years event stickers and trying to find all the sweet treats in the campground.

VWs At The Springs Founder Spotlight.

Ian and Veronica had originally taken over The VW Invasion long ago after it died out. After a couple years we decided to combine events and the rest is history.
Ian started out in the water cooled scene and has since had a tin top westy bay window, and now has a Vanagon with camper interior.
Veronica just picked up an amazing 1963 black beetle that will be ready for next years 10 year celebration of the event.
If you ever need help with anything during the event keep an eye out for one of these two.

We have a late entry, who will be camping with a friend.
is driving what is left of his split bus from Colorado to join us! Hopefully the weather holds out for him since he doesn’t have a roof!
