I want to thank Heather and crew at SoundFX in Bridgeville Delaware for hooking up the new Edge Racing hauler with a beautiful window tint job. I was in and out in about an hour and both myself and my son Beau really enjoyed getting to know the great people there and all the fun banter that they share. It really was a fun experience! The new truck “Ghost” is looking great and I can’t wait to go back next week for the bed cover I ordered while I was waiting.

Looking to upgrade from an older car or wanting to get into the class competitively at a reasonable cost?
I have a used Edge chassis here in my shop I’m going to nearly completely rebuild with a completely new fuel system, cooling system, all new braided stainless brake lines, new gauges and switch panel, completely stripped and re-wired front back, new up to date front clip and front suspension (new upper and lower A-arms, spindles, radius rods, heims, new hub bearings and seals, new brake rotors, and new steering tie rods), new 5point seat belt, all rear radius rods and heims, new rear hub bearings and seals, new Edge rear ultralight brake rotors, new throttle and clutch cables, complete new body inside and out, and new bumpers and side bars.
The brake master cylinders and all 4 calipers only have 6 races on them as well as the steering rack. This car is as close to a brand new car as you can get for considerably less investment.

I have a very slightly used set of both Hoosiers or AR’s mounted on used wheels to throw on it depending on your track requirement to get you started.
You can choose between a black or white body.
There is no motor or driveshaft in it but I do have a low mile 2022 ZX10r package with a new driveshaft on the shelf that could go in as an add on to make it a completely turn key car minus seat and steering wheel.
The car includes a slightly used Afco big body shock package with 2 1/2” springs.

I have another HUGE win for the Edge team to report. This one is from the land down under with another young star getting his first win in his Edge Chassis. Dean Silcock started on the pole for the feature in round 1 of the
EFS Ultimate Modlite Series at Toowoomba Speedway. When the green flag dropped, Dean dropped the hammer and absolutely ran away from the strongest field of cars Australia has to offer. He held the low line pretty much all to himself unchallenged for 20 laps flawlessly while the rest of the field was shaving the paint off of the outside wall one layer at a time a straightaway behind. I gotta show you guys this.
My buddy Liam Merrow from western PA got this new car off of me over last winter and he and his family assembled the entire thing themselves kit car style. This was Liam’s first season ever in a mod lite and he has progressed like a machine on a mission! This video clip was from last weekends heat race where he started dead last in the black #7 car. You can’t tell me this wasn’t fun! He went on to dominate the feature for his first win!

I couldn’t be more proud of my Edge guys up in NY this past weekend. Kent Chandler in his new car representing the brand with a beautiful hot rod, Angel Rivera showing some speed with 2 heat race wins and Mike Mullin parking his Edge in victory lane last night after a couple nights of mechanical issues and a real estate dispute with another car under caution resulting in a dnf. Awesome job guys and congratulations to Mike Mullin for the big win!

I’m going to open up a discussion about one of the biggest subjects currently getting a lot of spotlight within the mod lite community. Cost to participate and more specifically, the price of cars soaring above $40,000 as the “norm”. Ive seen quite a few comments on recent post mainly about used cars that are listed for sale for $30-$40 range. Some people are shocked that these cars are so expensive, others defend it. I’ve personally been heavily involved in this class for going on 17 years. I started my own business in 2013 building cars and am currently working on chassis number 91. My focus has always been to create a top tier product while keeping it affordable, keeping the class growing. This new trend with the price of cars and the mentality or accepted notion that you have to spend $40k+ to even have a chance to be competitive is going to ultimately hurt the class.
Pretty much everyone in the class knows the team I’ve spent the last 7 years promoting as my “house car”with my long time friend Tim White. You have seen our success and our shortcomings. Thankfully, there was alot more of the success side of things. For years, there was no place we went to and no group of cars, drivers, brand of chassis or amount of money spent, that we weren’t competitive against and earned the respect of every one of the top tier drivers and teams. We won quite a few races along the way. My Edge cars have won hundreds of races and many championships all over the country and Australia and Canada with many different drivers behind the wheel over the years.
Now, back to the reason for this post. I built that infamous 16 car back in 2019 when new “rollers” were selling for $16k. It has had 3 zx10 motors in it since being built with the most expensive one costing $5,500 from eBay. Every one of them was straight off the bike with a Guhl tune and airbox. The car has never had anything but off the shelf Afco shocks. I just don’t see where I could have even spent $40,000 to have gained any more success or fun than what we as a team has had. I’m not knocking anyone or any team for what they spend here. What I’m trying do is reassure new people who are looking at the class for the first time and would quickly be turned away by the perceived cost to compete.

Introducing the new Edge Tomahawk! This step up from the standard Edge chassis has come from the dark side.
Aimed toward top tier teams, this car has all the goodies that leave nothing on the table. This hot rod is quickly proving its worth with about a half second quicker lap times with the same motor under the hood as the new Edge Racing house driver, Angel Rivera (the flying taco) ran in his previous car. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited to get back to the track to see what we can get out of this awesome machine!
