A beautiful image that shows us the incredible Mitsubishi GTO PUMA, a classic of Gran Turismo and Best Motoring, which also had a stellar appearance in the Suzuka National GT. This was the second chassis from 1996, while a first unit from 1995 had been built previously.
The twin turbo 6G72 block transferred a power of 380 cv on the verge of touching the 7.000 rpm line. The Japanese Ralliart division, which was then in charge of managing the Evo chassis destined for Group A and later for the WRC, directed this transversal block in a sublime way for its participation in the N1 Taikyu Series, although to tell the truth, the car was a bit old of weight.
In the image we can see him running in Tokachi, a 24 hour event that in the 90s used the longer version called Grand Prix. It would be directed at times by Akihiko Nakaya, an F3000 driver and a regular in some Best Motoring chapters, who was also strongly linked to the sportier Mitsubishi models.
