Having 2 names can be confusing. We try to call our performance, drivetrain swaps, restoration, diagnostics and racing projects by this name, and our fabrication jobs like roll cages, suspension builds, axle builds and swaps, and Jeep part designs by Sidewinder Fab . Though these builds often overlap, the pages literally vary by speed. This post is a summary of what we offer as a shop, so you should probably follow our other page if you have any interest in the rock crawler builds that started our business, or the fabrication of custom components, wiring and plumbing that contribute to the beautiful results we share here.

Sometimes, diagnosis is made harder by finding out what is missing rather than what part failed. This 02 f250 came in with a p0720 and stalling. The customer had the truck at several other shops after a motor swap with a constant p0720. A failing coil on cylinder 4 was spiking voltage to PCM. After most shops shotgunning parts, we found the passenger side capacitor missing, installed a replacement, and replaced the cylinder 4 coil. No more misfire or stalling.

How to check your motor mounts (and a lot of other joints): Hold your foot on the brake enough to hold still, while applying the throttle enough to try to almost drive through the brakes. Watch and have someone test, or test and have someone watch. Do this in Drive and Reverse to spot blown out bushings, u-joints, heim joints, wallowed bolt holes, etc. in any of your drivetrain mounts, axle shafts, and suspension arms/links. Happy holidays!

We diagnosed a flattened exhaust lobe on this monster cam in a 78 Pontiac 400 causing huge backfires, so we replaced the cam & lifters, added gear-drive timing, power steering, e-fans and shroud, and did a TON of clean-up under the hood. Now she's ready to go terrorize the streets of Las Vegas!
