Perhaps no other soldier has influenced self storage to the extent that Bill Hendricks did. Hendricks was a World War II veteran who left the U.S. Marine Corps to pursue a career in Hollywood. He ended up as a studio executive for Looney Tunes, the creators of Bugs Bunny and other well-known cartoon characters. The thousands of storage operators who open their facilities to hold Toys for Tots each year can thank Hendricks for starting the program that has meant so much to millions of children.
