Among the many presenters displaying their skill set and new technology, there was one Automotive Service Industry Professional engaged in education above and beyond we would like to introduce to our alumni, students, faculty, and Advisory Board. ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ โก๏ธ
Please welcome with a warm virtual embrace Dr. Nick Goodnight, a valued veteran of our Automotive Family. We are so lucky to be able to include Dr. Goodnight in our journey to navigate this brave new world of technology. , , and our textbook publisher are very fortunate to have such an experienced automotive professional as Dr. Nick Goodnight guiding our future generations into the world of tomorrow. He is offering education beyond what is taught in the traditional classroom as he reflects on our past to see the future of the industry and for that we are forever grateful to him for preserving our trade. We are not a dying breed. Our veterans are investing in us, the future generations. Be proud veterans like Dr. Nick Goodnight are contributing to the honor of our Blue Collar Trade with his own bare hands and wisdom. Dr. Goodnight has four degrees, an AAS, a BA, an MBA, and a PhD and is also an ASE Master Automotive Technician and an ASE Master Truck Technician.๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ โก๏ธ
This seminar approached Autonomy and the Electric Vehicle Disruption, specifically how it will affect the Automotive Industry. Dr. Goodnight approaches the conversation calmly even though the shortage of technicians and lack of infrastructure we are currently enduring in the private sector is anything but a cakewalk. The Doctor breaks down the presentation into segments:
- an overview of how autonomous vehicles operate
- connected cities and v2x
- the subscription dynamic as it applies to a vehicle
- connected projects currently operating
- cybersecurity and the automotive platform
- the electrical power grid and how electric vehicles will affect it
- what's next and how do we train the new workforce
This discussion is now allowing fellow educators to provide further
