These 3 historic Le Mans cars will be stateside for .

Three legends. Three eras. Three Le Mans stories.

🦈 The Cunningham C-5R “Smiling Shark,” co-driven by Lime Rock Legend John Fitch, finished 3rd overall at Le Mans in 1953.

🕷️ Peter Sachs’ 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Zagato Corto Spider was driven to victory at Le Mans by Tazio Nuvolari and Raymond Sommer in one of the closest finishes in race history.

🏆 The Ford GT40 Mk II-B returned from Le Mans heartbreak to win at Reims — the final victory by a GT40 Mk II and the only victory by an Mk II-B.

See these Le Mans legends and hundreds of other extraordinary automobiles at Historic Festival 44 this Labor Day weekend, starting Thursday, September 3, at with the Historic Festival Parade presented by NBT Bank and The Falls Village Inn.

The weekend continues with three days of vintage racing, a world-class concours and the largest vintage car show in America.

📣 FREE ADMISSION TO THE PARK TODAY

The SCCA has been part of Lime Rock Park’s story since the very beginning. As The Park celebrates 69 years of SCCA racing, it’s worth remembering that the very first event at Lime Rock was an SCCA Driver’s School on April 20, 1957. More than 150 cars took to the brand-new circuit and, after a quick repaving effort, a crowd of 6,660 watched the first races unfold. This clip is from that race!

Just two months later, the SCCA National brought legends like Carroll Shelby, John Fitch and Briggs Cunningham to Lime Rock. A decade after that, the first Trans Am race helped transform The Park from a club circuit into a major racing destination.

Nearly seven decades later, the tradition continues with the New England Region SCCA races this weekend (June 12-13). Friday is free for spectators and Saturday tickets are $26. Click the ticket link pinned in the comments for more information.

Today, the 1000 Miglia begins in Italy, and one of its greatest champions is coming to Historic Festival 44 at Lime Rock Park.

The Revs Institute will bring the 1938 Alfa Romeo Tipo 8C 2900B, one of the most important sports cars in the world to Historic Festival 44!

Built so ALFA ROMEO could continue its domination of the Mille Miglia, the 8C 2900B delivered. Its victory in 1947 marked the fourth win for the Two-Nine and the 11th and final Mille Miglia victory for Alfa Romeo.

The 1938 Alfa Romeo Tipo 8C 2900B will be part of the special Revs Institute A Paddock Display during and the Lime Rock Park Concours.

More cars will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

We are extending a very special thank you to Sharon Playhouse for recognizing Skip Barber over the weekend in a huge way.

The Sharon Playhouse Spotlight Gala celebrated Skip’s extraordinary generosity, steadfast support of the Theatre and 25 years of service as a Board Member while raising vital funds for the Playhouse's future.

The show-stopping moment of the evening was a special performance of “Go Skip Barber,” with lyrics set to the melody of Greased Lightnin'. The number brought down the house!

From the delicious food and signature Barber-Ritas to a room filled with friends, supporters and theatre lovers, it was a memorable night on and off the stage.
