After years of specialised workmanship on these engines, my technicians and I have seen too
many owners pay for the same valve cover gasket repair twice in six months because the real
culprit was ignored.
When the PCV system, or positive crankcase ventilation, stops circulating gases properly, it
creates pressure that forces oil out of the weakest point, which is almost always your gasket.
If you are tired of checking the driveway for fresh oil patches every time you head to the shops,
follow this checklist before you approve another repair:
1. Ask your mechanic to test the crankcase system.
2. Inspect the integrated PCV valve built directly into the plastic valve cover for cracks or carbon
buildup.
3. Replace the entire valve cover assembly, not just the rubber gasket,if the integrated PCV
Valve has failed. Proper diagnostic will confirm excessive crankcase vacuum or pressure.
4. Clean all breather hoses to ensure no sludge is blocking the internal airflow.
It is much better to do the job properly once than to keep pouring fresh oil and money into a
problem that is only going to reappear
when the July heat hits.

✔️Compressor
✔️Vent temperature
✔️High & Low pressure lines
✔️ Hoses and Seals with UV light
✔️ Condenser fan & belts
✔️ Repair Cabin air filter
