Today we talk about repairing your leaking fork seals in the field, while out on the trail. Many of you will carry a feeler gauge set for valve lashing/ spark plug gapping. This feeler gauge can be used to help repair leaking fork seals, from dirt and grime that gets passed the dust boot. Utilizing the methods in this video, you can stop your forks from leaking further, while out on the trail.

As reference: I have used this trick some 10+ times on various bikes over the years and never suffered a seal failure or further seal leaks from utilizing this trick. That being said, purchasing a seal saver or seal doctor would be the preferred method. I tend to utilize a minimalist approach to gear so, to each their own.
