During a walk at St. Croix State Park, Candy photographed a small cluster of acorns still attached to an oak branch. Back at the campsite, that simple photograph became the inspiration for a hand-stitched wool piece — oak leaves, branches, and acorns recreated while spending a quiet afternoon at camp.

St. Croix State Park is Minnesota’s largest state park, with more than 33,000 acres to explore, the St. Croix and Kettle rivers, miles of trails, paddling opportunities, historic buildings, and plenty of places where you can simply slow down for a while.

Our latest article explores the park from that perspective: camping at Riverview Campground, walking to the river, exploring the trails, spending an afternoon on a project inspired by the woods, and eventually settling in beside a campfire with s’mores.

An extended-range fuel tank, built-in navigation, and a 360-degree bird’s-eye-view camera help make the miles ahead comfortable and easy to manage.

Inside, approximately 6 feet 4 inches of standing height creates a comfortable high-roof living environment with a dinette, easy bed setup, practical kitchen, thoughtful storage, and large windows that keep the outdoors part of the experience.
