This is always good to revisit ..... Most of these chargers aren't UL listed and typically don't come close to meeting manufacturers specs or battery algorithms. They will never charge a set of golf batteries correctly.

When adding water to deep-cycle FLA batteries, you want to make sure the cell plates are covered and that the water reaches the fill level. This is 1/4-inch below the bottom of the fill-well. More information on battery maintenance tips can be found on the www.usbattery.com website

We've been receiving many calls for new and used golf carts. Unfortunately the golf cart manufacturers have been backlogged with supply orders for new and used units since Covid began and now have parts supply issues. It is probably worse than the auto industry. Some of these golf carts do have small chips in the controllers, so I suspect this will get worse as time goes on. Especially on AC driven carts, as we are seeing this now. We are currently out of golf carts and DO NOT see any changes in the supply chain for some time. Oh yes, there are some golf carts moving around, but the quality of these units are not acceptable for Federal Golf Carts! Lead times on new orders are very sketchy and changes are made often. So for the near future we will be only doing repairs. As things change we will change accordingly. Please call with your golf cart make and model before dropping off any unit for repair, unless you are a prior customer.
If you are in the market for a golf cart here is some advice. Please DO NOT leave a deposit on a new golf cart order. Some order delays are as much as 6-12 months and some will tell you what they want you to hear as far as ETA's (Manufacturers and Dealers) . Overseas parts are a real struggle. Deposits have been lost because businesses are no longer even operating ...... no inventory. Check used units carefully for rust, corrosion and batteries before making that purchase on a used golf cart. Harness corrosion seems to be the biggest issue we've seen lately. So most of these carts are coming in from along the coast and are high usage carts. If it is a golf cart has the hours tracked on the computer please find out that information . We are receiving 4 year old units with 8-10 thousand hours .... no that is not a typo!
We are still well stocked on parts for different makes and models and are trying to stay ahead for our customers and their repair needs . We want to thank you all for your patience.
Battery shortages have seemed to ease a bit, but a few batteries are still not available. Same with some parts. I'm sure that will continue to be the norm for some time .
So if you have any questions feel free give us a call @ 337-261-8146
Good Luck and Stay Safe

First and most important, We Hope Everyone Is Safe in SELA!
Due to the storm there will be many questions about flooded golf carts. Many golf carts will sit there for days while families try to piece their lives back together and take care of more important issues. Time is of the essence so as soon as possible try to remove as much water as you can from your golf cart . The longer it sits with water inside the more damage it does. All insured golf carts should not to be touched or altered in any way, call your insurance company for further assistance.
IMPORTANT: Please do not try to run the cart. Do NOT plug a charger into your AC outlet that has been wet. Do NOT plug a charger into a golf cart that has been submerged. There will be water in areas that can cause severe injury and or death to yourself and damage to the golf cart.
As soon as possible remove the floor mat. In the center of the floor is a small sealed box, remove the cover and let this dry out completely (fans are the best choice ). If the water was above the motor, remove the 3 bolts remove the motor from the rear end and turn cap side up. Let it dry out or blow the water out with compressed air. Drain all the oil from the rear end. Remove the drain pan. Jack up the rear of the cart and tilt unit left then right to make sure all fluids have drained from the rear axles. Clean, re-seal the pan with oil resistant sealant. Refill with 90 weight oil. Possibly some electronic components will need to be replaced. Depending on how high the water was solenoid, controller and maybe some wiring. The motor may also need to be replaced, it really depends on how long the water sits inside the motor. It may take days to dry completely, it is still very humid outside so take your time.
Hope this helps, but If you have any questions, or you need parts call us 337-261-8146 we do keep many parts for EZGO and Club Car in stock . We were blessed that we were spared this time so if need assistance we are open 8-5 Monday thru Thursday and 9-1 Fridays. We can do estimates and repairs for flooded carts.
Good Luck, Stay Safe, Help Your Neighbor In Need and Please Check On The Elderly!

Batteries : All batteries have different amp hour ratings Most golf carts run on a 6 volt 232 amp hour battery US 2200, Trojan T105 for 36volt systems or an 8 volt 170 amp hour battery US 8VGC or Trojan T875 for 48volt systems. If you do not install the proper amp hour battery in your cart then you run the risk of burning your electrical components . So if you start having electrical issues with your cart ........ CHECK your batteries!

Time to Share this again. If your buying a used cart you can always check the batteries yourself without having to rely on someone to give you bad information. Trojan and US batteries have stamped batteries, If your batteries don't have a date code stay away !

How to Read US Battery Date Codes
Flooded Lead Acid: For flooded lead acid batteries, the date code is stamped using two letters and a number. The first letter refers to the month it was manufactured: A-L refers to January – December. The number refers to the year in which the battery was made. For example: 2 would be 2012, 3 would be 2013, 4 would be 2014, etc. The last letter refers to the plant in which the battery was made. For example: X refers to Corona, Y refers to Augusta, and Z refers to Evans. Below is an example of how to interpret a date code

Give your battery cables a tug!

When deep cycle batteries are properly charged and watered but there are still performance issues, it is often it is merely a connection issue. Loose connections are a common problem and can happen from under tightening or corrosion issues
(even corroded battery nuts). Golf cart battery terminals are made from lead, which is a soft metal, it compresses over time. They must be tightened and re-tightened on a regular basis to maintain proper torque levels. If too much torque is applied it can cause damage to the terminal or even break it. Use an open end wrench not a ratchet which applies too much torque and you will snap the lead post off. Check your battery cables on regular basis this way you will have better performance from your golf cart.

Time to re-post this, still seeing a few of these being used as golf cart chargers.

Looking to purchase a charger. Stay away from those inexpensive Amazon chargers, just don't do it! We recently ran across one that was a 36 volt charger 110V volts at 18A. But the Model was a RHOS DL-900W for $134.00. It was tested and the model is correct it only puts out less that 900W which is : 900 Watt 7.5 Amps @ 120 Volts. Yes that is right, less than 8 amps not 18amps. At that rate you are only putting 1 amp or so per 6 batteries. You are only TRICKLE CHARGING these batteries. In less than 6 months they could be ruined. Please save your money and buy a real golf cart charger.

Summer is definitely upon us remember to check your batteries . Here are a few tips to help maintain batteries in hot weather?

Know the installation date of your existing battery . Trying to run on old batteries does not help your golf carts electronics. Its a silent killer.

Golf carts that are driven every day usually get plugged in every day. Carts that are occasionally driven; (applies to collector cars, RV's, motor cycles, tractors any lead acid battery) need charger/ battery maintainers or need to plugged and unplugged daily if you have the factory charger, to keep batteries at full charge, as high heat will dramatically accelerate self-discharge rates, causing low states of charge, developing sulfation that will reduce performance and service life. While your at it check your battery cables to make sure they are not loose. Then enjoy the summer!

Nice setup!

So many of you ask me about my set of lithium batteries and I would like to share what I did on my Phoenix Boats Freedom Marine Center
I have 3 RB 100 and 2 RB 100 HP Relion Battery , the first set for my Minn Kota Ultrex and the second one for Engine, services and GoPro.
I fished in many difficult situations in the Coosa lately and never runt out of batteries fishing current all day long and at the end of the day, my trolling motor had the same power of the morning.
No noticeable power loss.
Talking about the second set, I settled it with two batteries just because I have 4 Humminbird Helix 12” and I like to run my GoPro all day.
I made two batteries switches, one for going from one to the other, and another for charging them.
So at the end in many months of use I never, never used the second one.
I’m definitely really impressed, never had more efficient power on my boat.
