This is always good to revisit . All ruined a set of batteries ..... Most of these chargers aren't UL listed and typically don't come close to meeting manufacturers specs or battery algorithms. They will never charge a set of golf batteries correctly.
Stay away from those inexpensive Amazon chargers, just don't do it! We recently ran across one that was a 36 volt charger 110V volts at 18A. But the Model was a RHOS DL-900W for $134.00. It was tested and the model is correct it only puts out less that 900W which is : 900 Watt 7.5 Amps @ 120 Volts. Yes that is right, less than 8 amps not 18amps. At that rate you are only putting 1 amp or so per 6 batteries. You are only TRICKLE CHARGING these batteries. it may take 3/4/5 weeks to charge a set of batteries. In less than 6 months your batteries could be ruined. Please save your money and buy a real golf cart charger! He was lucky
Today we ran across a charger that only put out 5 amps and listed as a golf cart charger. That is 5 amps across 6 batteries, that's .83amps per battery. Depending on how weak those batteries are it may take a month or so to charge them. The most important part of you golf cart is your batteries. Treat them well, buy a quality charger and get good long life out of your batteries. Give us a call @337-261-8146

Now that weather seems to be moderating those golf carts need to be charged, regardless if it was used or not. Most electric golf cart chargers are semi automatic. Once the batteries are charged the charger will shut off and never come back on again. The charger needs to be unplugged and re-plugged into the golf cart to restart the charge process. Cold weather can have a detrimental effect on lead acid batteries. They need to stay hot/charged . So please remember to charge your batteries during the winter months to get a good long life out of your batteries. If your cart needs service because you haven't charged your batteries regularly. We do have cell chargers. Sometimes they can bring back dead newer batteries. It is NOT a miracle worker. There is no guarantee, no matter how new your batteries are, but it may be worth a try. Give us a call if you need a new set of factory spec batteries, we keep them in stock or you just need a service. @ 337-261-8146.

Once the batteries are charged the charger will shut off and never come back on again. The charger needs to be unplugged and re-plugged into the golf cart to restart the charge process. Cold weather can have a detrimental effect on lead acid batteries. The need to stay hot/charged . So please remember to charge your batteries more during the winter months to get good long out of your batteries.
