That big blue blob on the radar is nature's wrath slamming down upon us in the form of snow falling throughout most of the district. There's no avoiding it. Nowhere to hide.

Like a 4-year-old waking up bright and early on a Saturday when all you're trying to do is get a *little* extra sleep. You try to pull the covers over your head like that might make some kind of difference. Like maybe, just maybe, they'll turn around and just go back to bed.

But they don't. They want cake. At 6:30 in the morning. And you consider it, for a moment, if allowing them this abomination of a breakfast might somehow earn you some extra sack time.

But it doesn't. You're up now. The day has started. Time to stumble into the kitchen, toss on a pot of coffee and sloppily toss together a batch of pancakes - if you're in the enterprising mood. If you're just trying to get through the morning, toast works just fine.

Anyway, we're expecting this snow to fall throughout the night, producing 3-5 inches of accumulation by the time it's done. Lake effect is expected to follow, but let's get through this initial wave first.

Your commute home could be challenging and you should certainly count on your Thursday morning commute to be. Our have been preparing for this all week and they're ready to roll in their .

Do your part by giving them room to work when you see them out there and . Leave yourself plenty of time and be especially mindful of potentially slick conditions around bridges, overpasses and exit ramps. Let's all be safe out there.

In the meantime, just know that, even if Thursday turns into a snow day, those little bundles of joy won't capitalize. If there's one thing adulthood teaches us it's that we never fully took advantage of our opportunities to SLEEP IN.

Be careful out there!

Brand new data continues to reiterate our thoughts: Tuesday morning commute is going to be really rough. I guarantee lots of school delays, and I certainly would not be surprised to see districts close. *PLEASE* allow for extra travel time. Anything over 0.10" of ice is a lot. Once you get to that 1/4" - 1/3" range, you begin to deal with power outages and tree damage.
