1961 was the last year Chevrolet put the 283 small block in a Corvette. It was also a quiet engineering year: an aluminum radiator became standard, the four speed got an aluminum case, and the exhaust finally exited below the body instead of through the bumper. Fawn Beige Metallic went on 1,363 of the 10,939 cars built.

This one wears that Fawn Beige over a black vinyl interior, with a manual top and the ducktail rear that previewed the Sting Ray. The 283 breathes through aluminum heads into dual exhaust, and a floor shifted four speed sorts out the rest. Air conditioning makes it a weekend car you can use in July. See it in our Nashville showroom.

The Rally Sport badge on a 1967 Camaro was never a performance package. Z22 was appearance only, and it could be ordered on any Camaro, six-cylinder cars included. One detail even Camaro people miss: the 1967 hideaway headlamps ran on electric motors, while 1968 and 1969 cars switched to vacuum.

This one finally makes the name literal. An Ultra Street 540 V8 sits behind that blacked-out grille, backed by a TH400 automatic and Flowmaster dual exhaust. Black over black vinyl, power steering, front discs, tilt wheel, and only 1,868 miles since the build was finished.
