In 1972 chrysler corporation intended to again offer the 440-6 pack but just as production was starting they canceled it. As many as 7 cars may have been produced between dodge and plymouth but only 3 are currently known to exist.
In 2015 we were lucky enough to restore the only 72 440-6 Road Runner known to exist.
Recently 1 of the 2 known 1972 440-6 Dodge Chargers was purchased by one of our customers. So that means we will have restored 2 of the 3 cars that exist!
We will be showing it as found at the 2026 mcacn show in November and then start the restoration right after the show and unveil it at the 2027 mcacn show.
Our good friend Ryan Brutt of Auto Archeology did a great video on this car and gives a lot of great history on the 1972 440-6 cars. I will put a link to his YouTube video in the comments.

The 27th Superbird we have had in the shop arrived this week! 440-6BBL. Original FY1 Lemon Twist paint. Numbers matching engine and transmission. The original Fender tag, build sheet, window sticker and years of paperwork came with it.
One of our customers purchased it from the 2nd owner who bought it in 1974 as a senior in high school, he took it off the road in the mid 1980's and kept it well stored all these years. It sold new in Amityville, Long Island at OC Taylor. It still had 6 quarts of 50 weight Valvoline Racing Oil and a Fram oil filter in the trunk!
We will be documenting all of it's original features and then rebuild what is needed to get it back on the road.

Here is another project we recently started on. 1969 Super Bee. 426 Hemi. Automatic transmission.
The Original color on this one is Y4 Gold Metallic. It had been raced years ago, had a small roll bar installed, rear springs moved in board and the wheel houses widened to fit bigger tires.
We will reverse all of that and bring it back to original condition.

Here are a 2 current projects we recently started. Both are 426 Hemi Cudas, both are 727 automatic transmissions, both are 4.10 Dana axle cars, both were purchased in the 1970's by their current owners. (Not the same owners). One is lime light green with a black interior. One is inviolet with a white interior. Yes, both of these are before pictures. The green car was restored 35 years ago and getting a refresh.
