Here are the top signs that your camper is holding moisture. ⤵️

1. A musty smell that hits when you open the door and doesn't clear after it airs out.

2. Soft spots near the windows. Press on the wall around the frame. It should feel solid.

3. Foggy cabinets. Look for condensation or a cloudy film inside cabinet doors, especially on outside walls.

Here's why it matters now. Once a camper is stored away for months, that damp air has nowhere to go.

Small moisture turns into mold, stained paneling, or soft wood when nobody notices.

Quick tip: if your water pump keeps kicking on when nothing's turned on, don't ignore it.

RV water pumps are demand pumps. They run to build pressure in the lines, then shut off once that pressure is reached. If every faucet is closed and the pump still cycles on and off, that means pressure is dropping somewhere it shouldn't be, and the most common cause is a leak in a line or a fitting that's not sealed tight.

A slow leak now can mean water damage you don't see coming, plus a pump working overtime it doesn't need to.

I’m just a guy who likes his RV running smooth, his water clean, and his weekends worry-free. These are the maintenance checks I actually use to keep my rig ready for the road.
