As we close out another Miley Harvey Ride for a Cure, Chris and I are sitting here trying to find the words to express just how grateful we are for every single person who helped make this yearâs benefit possible.
And the truth is⌠âthank youâ just doesnât feel big enough.
This event takes months of planning, countless phone calls and messages, long days, late nights, stress, excitement, laughter, a few headaches đ, and a whole lot of love. But when the weekend finally gets here and we look around and see everyone who showed up to support these families, every bit of it is worth it.
This was our 4th Annual Miley Harvey Ride for a Cure, and once again, this off-road community showed us just how BIG its heart truly is. đ
To every person who traveled to be here, bought a raffle ticket, entered Cards for Cancer or the Scavenger Hunt, raced, tackled the bounty course, bought a shirt or merchandise, donated money or an item, volunteered your time, shared our posts, invited your friends, or simply showed up to support us â YOU were a part of making this happen.
This benefit has never been about just one person or one organization. It takes an entire community coming together for something bigger than ourselves.
Most importantly, everything we do is about helping families with children battling cancer. These families are facing battles that no parent should ever have to face, and being able to take even a small amount of the financial burden and stress off their shoulders is why we continue doing this year after year.
This event is also incredibly personal to our family. We continue this benefit in memory of Chrisâs dad, and every year we are reminded that something born from loss can continue to create love, hope, generosity, and kindness for other families. That means more to us than we could ever put into words. đ
