5.3 and 6.2 Lifters. If its not fatigue from the DOD (displacement on demand) it can be spun or totally collapsed lifters that give you that consistent missfire or tick. We have been in a lot of them. Fortunately this specific vehicle was given an extended lease on life as the damage extent hadn't warranted a new camshaft or engine. Lets get those trucks and suv's scheduled to remedy this issue.

This truck in particular made it halfway home when it began making some expensive noises requiring a complete engine replacement.

❗️Component temperature will play a factor in problems presenting themselves!

Tips⚠️
❗️Drive the vehicle at Residential and Highway speeds with the radio off and cycle the Hvac on/off
❗️Let the vehicle reach and maintain operating temperature.
❗️Check all fluids easily accessible and verify level and color.
❗️Start the vehicle cold and listen for noises like rattles on startup or for hard starts.
❗️For a more in-depth inspection contact an honest and competent technician that works for you and your best interest.
