Your vehicle’s computer may tell us which system noticed a problem, but it usually doesn’t tell us exactly which part failed—or why.

🔋 What if your Nissan LEAF could go farther than it did when it was new?

Early Nissan LEAFs helped make electric vehicles accessible, but their original driving range can become limiting—especially as the battery ages. For perspective, a 2015 LEAF was originally EPA-rated for approximately 84 miles of range on a full charge.

Extended-range battery kits have already been installed in Nissan LEAF vehicles in the European market with successful results. Nuts and Volts Automotive is now exploring how we may be able to bring this option to LEAF owners here in the United States.

Available upgrade capacities include:

⚡ 50 kWh: projected range of approximately 217 miles
⚡ 62 kWh: projected range of approximately 267 miles
⚡ 68 kWh: projected range of approximately 298 miles

For the right vehicle and owner, an extended-range battery could completely transform the usefulness of an older LEAF—while keeping a capable EV on the road instead of sending it to the scrapyard.

When an electrical issue pops up, most people think:
“Does it have power?”
But in modern vehicles — especially EVs and hybrids — that question isn’t enough.
That’s why we rely on a method called voltage drop testing, one of the most powerful diagnostic tools in the industry.

🔍 What Is Voltage Drop?
Every wire, connector, and ground has resistance. When electricity flows through, a little bit of voltage is naturally lost.
