Hurricane Lowell Update

Aloha divers!

We want to send a huge mahalo to all of you who helped keep us afloat during this very difficult time. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated.

We are elated to announce we have been cleared to get back in the water and can resume operations next week!!!  

We look forward to seeing your smiling faces and more than anything we look forward to taking you diving again!!!

Hurricane Lowell Update:
On September 7, 2026, Kauai and Niihau were hit by a category 2 hurricane resulting in severe damage to parts of our beautiful island. Unfortunately, this is not the first catastrophe we’ve dealt with, and we know how to come together as a community to pick up the pieces.
First and foremost, we are so grateful to report our entire staff is safe. Both of our boats and our shop also pulled through with minimal damage. WE ARE EAGER TO TAKE YOU DIVING AGAIN! However, there are a few things we need to do first.
Our shore diving location and our harbor are currently inoperable. It will be a collaborative effort between our dive community and our government to take the necessary steps to reopen access. Our team is out there every day moving rocks and debris in any effort to expedite this process.
While we are unsure when we will be able to resume operations, know that we are working on it, and are looking forward to you again. We will let you know the moment we will be able to run our first charter.
If you already have a trip to Kauai planned, we would encourage you to still come. Life has returned to normal in many parts of the island, and local businesses, like ourselves, are suffering financially without you here. Please plan on being flexible in how you spend your time here, exercise patience, eat at our favorite restaurants to keep them going, and pack a little extra aloha for us.
In the meantime, if you’d like to help our dive ohana specifically, we would greatly appreciate your support. Texaco gift cards, pre-booking dives (we can give you gift certificate for future use), or a direct financial donation would all be invaluable to us at this time.

Fathom Five and our staff are grateful to have come through Hurricane Lowell safely. Keli’i O Kekai, Diver 3, and our shop also remain unscathed. Our hearts go out to those affected by the storm; we are especially thankful that our staff and their loved ones are safe. We feel fortunate that our facilities and boats have not suffered any damage.
Sadly, many parts of the island have experienced significant destruction, including Koloa Landing, Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor, and the surrounding coastal areas. Power is gradually returning to some areas, but most still lack it. We don't yet know when we’ll be able to resume diving, but we promise to keep everyone informed as the recovery progresses.
