We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair ATV's, Side by Sides, other small engine equipment, and company vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools and have good time management skills. Most work will be done onsite, in our shop, but there may be times work will need done offsite.
Kodiak ATV Repair has a sister business that offers ATV/UTV fishing trips to Saltery Cove (back country Alaska). This company may need you to be able to go out and diagnose problems in a remote setting with a limited number of tools.
Applicants must have valid driver's license and be drug free.
Responsibilities
-Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
-Inspect machines to discover functionality issues
-Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
-Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
-Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
-Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
-Keep communications with customers on extra work needing done.
-Look up parts to fix issues
-Undertake other duties as assigned
-Keep logs of work and report on issues
Skills
-Proven experience as Mechanic
-Aptitude in using various hand tools, and precision measurement tools.
-A strong commitment to all safety guidelines
-Very good communication skills
A problem-solving ability
-Very good physical strength
-High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
-Good time management
