As we move into the summer months, the focus of our 1988 911’s preservation journey shifts to the interior. The original Porsche Sahara Beige leather had cracked and faded with age, so rather than replace it, we set out to preserve it using a unique interior restoration process. Our classic team mixed a dye, tested it directly on the seat, and adjusted until the color disappeared seamlessly into the original leather. The aim isn’t a brand-new look, it’s an even gradient across every surface, with cracks softened and not a single piece of original material lost in the process. Leather cracking and wear is among the most common issues in classic 911s. If your Porsche interior is in need of similiar revival, Harper Porsche Classic has the resources for a proper repair.
