As we move into the summer months, the focus of our 1988 911’s preservation journey shifts to the interior. The original Porsche Sahara Beige leather had cracked and faded with age, so rather than replace it, we set out to preserve it using a unique interior restoration process. Our classic team mixed a dye, tested it directly on the seat, and adjusted until the color disappeared seamlessly into the original leather. The aim isn’t a brand-new look, it’s an even gradient across every surface, with cracks softened and not a single piece of original material lost in the process. Leather cracking and wear is among the most common issues in classic 911s. If your Porsche interior is in need of similiar revival, Harper Porsche Classic has the resources for a proper repair.

Restoring a 1-of-1 1978 930 Turbo the right way means chasing details most people will likely never notice.

As part of our entry in the 2026 Porsche Restoration Challenge, we recently sourced a brand-new, all-original Porsche seat belt assembly still sealed in its original 1970s OEM packaging, complete with the correct period part number written on a parchment label.

The search led us to California, where this original Porsche part originated from the inventory of Vasek P***k, a legendary Porsche dealer, racer, and motorsports partner whose influence helped shape Porsche’s presence in North America.

It’s the kind of part you simply can’t order anymore, and the kind of effort required when restoring a special 930 Turbo to the standards it deserves.

Our Harper Porsche Classic Department is undertaking a full recommissioning of our 2006 Carrera GT as part of the Individualization category in the 2026 Porsche Restoration Challenge. This process is defined by precision and respect for one of the most iconic modern analog supercars ever built. Even so, the work currently underway is anything but simple. Removing factory leather from a car of this caliber requires equal parts technical discipline and craftsmanship.

With the interior fully disassembled, our Classic team is working closely with leather artisans to reimagine the cabin without compromising the spirit of the original engineering. Every surface, seam, and material transition is being evaluated with intent, ensuring that what returns to the car feels both purposeful and authentic to its character.

The design direction draws inspiration from the GT3 90 F.A. Porsche Edition, incorporating a highly distinctive F.A. Grid-Weave leather. The pattern features a complex five-color composition made up of Black, Green, Truffle Brown, Cream, and Bordeaux Red, layered in a way that balances heritage references with a modern, tactile character.

Additional interior elements and bespoke details are still being developed, with further refinements to be revealed as the project progresses.
