With methanol markets cooling, we have seen a decrease in our costs and will be passing it along to help out the race teams!

We are dropping prices $0.25 per gallon. $4.50 per gallon (tax included) on methanol or $4.65 per gallon (tax included) for delivery in Knoxville.

Reminder: monthly fairboard meeting is tonight at 6:30 in the Bingley building. Open to the public to come and listen or share your opinions.

Continuing our tech tips of the week.

Race trailers and storage containers both have there uses but neither are for methanol storage long term. We highly recommend removing your fuel jugs from your race trailers throughout the week and to a climate controlled area. This will prevent heat and humidity from affecting your fuel.

Does it really matter?? In a sport, where people are looking for even the smallest of advantages, everything matters. You wouldn’t buy a new engine and use the cheapest oil you can find. The details matter when it comes to fuel.

We also don’t recommend storing fuel over the winter in either of them. Compared to the cost of an engine it isn’t worth the risk.

Make sure to drink plenty of water this week and don’t let your methanol drink it!

Plastic is not a long term storage solution for methanol. Methanol can degrade most plastics and lead to permeability. Methanol will aggressively absorb water v***r from the air. Plastic also can’t be grounded.

Storing methanol in plastic containers with high heat and humidity is a recipe for poor fuel. Any reputable fuel person knows this.

That is why we utilize a double wall insulated stainless steel tank for our storage. This is part of the reason why engine builders, national touring teams, and local teams trust us. Don’t risk destroying an engine with poor fuel!

Tech tip: check the gaskets on your fuel jugs to ensure they are properly sealed. Any opening at all and methanol will absorb water out of the air. Especially with the heat and humidity in Iowa.

This will lead to poor fuel quality and potentially a high bill with your engine builder. Recommend reaching out to Jockos Sprint Parts before a few dollar fix costs you tens of thousands of dollars.
