I’ve been talking about this very thing for quite some time. Once your rocker geometry is correct, you need to run the proper length push rod at that point. Shaft mounted Rocker set up’s. Like the FE and a few others….

I’ve seen too many people run too short of a push Rod and they just tell you, “ just run your adjuster down to the push rod”. Totally the wrong way to go about it. You will lose your lift, duration and everything else. Brian does an excellent job on showing how much you lose.

Ted Eaton also did an article years ago on this very thing. I’ll leave a link in the comments on Ted Eaton’s article about this very thing.

As part of our engine build process for Josh's 1976 F-150, we're constructing Uncle Bob's 500Hp 390. One of the most crucial steps is preparing the engine block. We've utilized wire wheels to clean the cam and main journals, including the main caps, and have also cleaned the registers on the block to ensure a pristine surface. The main journals have been inspected and are in excellent condition. We recommend using wire wheels and wire brushes to clean engine blocks, as they are effective and affordable. Furthermore, a thread chaser kit is necessary for ensuring threaded holes are clean and free of debris. These kits are more effective than taps for maintaining thread integrity. With substantial prep work out of the way, we'll continue with the build.

The 500Hp 390 engine refurbishment for Uncle Bob, part of Josh's 76 F-150 build, involves extensive laser cleaning and painting. Many components are rusty and crusty, necessitating thorough restoration. A significant amount of preparation is required before assembling this powerful engine. Although often invisible to the end-user, the attention to detail and preparation are vital components of the project. The final product should meet Josh's expectations and perform exceptionally well.

Been a very busy guy. Distributor work is on hold for the time being. Building a 500Hp 390 for a project called Uncle Bob #2. Going into Josh‘s 1976 Ford F150 4x4. With some trick parts for this little critter and it’s going to be a pretty neat build! More stuff coming your way! And I’ll be posting up more pictures and what I’m doing and why. Hopefully to help a few of you out in your own personal builds! Thanks

I had the opportunity to pick this up from Luke the other day and I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces and offering genuine feedback. It's heartening to see innovators like Luke pushing the boundaries in the automotive world. As one of the diminishing number of professionals in this field, I plan to keep going until I'm no longer able to or the industry undergoes a significant shift. I'm confident that day isn't near, so I'll keep sharing my findings.

Thanks Luke!!! Keep up the good fight, sir!

Good Morning to you all!!! It’s hump day and I hope everybody’s week is going extremely well!
