In 1997, I bought a running/driving 1969 Dodge Charger. It was a 28-year-old car at that point in time and widely regarded as a True Classic American Muscle Car. I paid $3,000 for that car. It was a LOT of money in 1997, but attainable, not out of reach, not a ridiculous asking price. Today I jumped on Facebook Marketplace to take a look at what is for sale and ran across a 1992 Chevy Cavalier for sale for $8,000, described as a Classic... Last year at Mecum Kissimmee, I watched a Chevy Chevette bring an astronomical hammer price. Am I being snobbish in what I believe are Classics?? Are the budget, throw-away cars of the late 80's/early 90's really regarded as classics?? I have my opinion, what is yours?
