🛢️ Engine Oil Quick Guide
Choosing the correct engine oil is one of the most important decisions for protecting your engine. The oil grade, such as 0W-20, 5W-30, 10W-40, 15W-40, or 20W-50, determines how the oil flows at low temperatures and how well it protects the engine at high operating temperatures. Always use the viscosity grade recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
0W-20 is commonly used in modern engines because it flows quickly during cold starts, reduces internal friction, and improves fuel economy. 5W-30 is one of the most versatile grades, offering excellent protection for everyday driving in a wide range of temperatures.
10W-40 provides a thicker oil film and is often recommended for higher-mileage engines or vehicles operating in warmer climates. 15W-40 is widely used in diesel engines, commercial vehicles, and heavy-duty applications where strong wear protection is required. 20W-50 is a high-viscosity oil designed for older engines with higher mileage or those operating in very hot environments.
Using the wrong oil grade can increase engine wear, reduce fuel efficiency, and shorten engine life.
