What looks unfinished here is actually an important stage of the repair process.

Before refinishing begins, damaged areas must be carefully repaired, sanded and prepared. The trim and surrounding components are removed where necessary so the work can be completed properly, not simply covered up.

At Kingston Collision, attention to detail starts long before the final coat of paint.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at a vehicle partway through the repair process.

The door handles and exterior trim have been removed so the damaged area can be properly repaired and prepared without working around those components. Once the surface has been carefully checked, the vehicle can move on to refinishing and reassembly.

Collision repair involves several detailed stages, and each one plays a role in how the vehicle looks when it leaves the shop.

Behind every quality collision repair is a careful plan.

This Subaru is in the teardown stage, where our team can inspect the full extent of the damage, identify what needs to be repaired or replaced, and make sure nothing important is missed before reassembly begins.

The damage you can see is only part of the story. Proper collision repair means looking beyond the surface and restoring the vehicle with safety, fit, and function in mind.

What you see on the outside is only part of the repair.

For this Ford F-350, we removed the truck bed to inspect the frame and everything underneath before putting it back together. While replacing damaged parts is important, making sure the structure beneath them is straight, secure, and built to factory specifications is what helps ensure a safe, lasting repair.

At Kingston Collision, we don't believe in covering up damage. We believe in repairing it the right way.

If you've been in an accident, trust a team that takes the time to inspect what you can't see, not just what you can.

Original is worth preserving.

This classic Jeep came in with damage to the front right fender. Rather than replacing it, the owner chose to repair the original panel.

When it's safe and practical to do so, repairing original sheet metal helps preserve the vehicle's factory fit, originality, and character.

Not every repair is about installing new parts. Sometimes it's about preserving what makes the vehicle special.
