A short reflection on services rendered:

Time is Money. Time is the most valuable asset one can posses. Time is the one thing there is never enough of. Time flies, sometimes even when you're not having fun.

All of these things and more are true, time is a very precious possession. As I've continued to get older my worst fears have come to pass, my mom and dad were right, it just passes faster each year.

The entire point in The Helpful Wrench existing is to help you keep as much of your time to yourself and not spending this time waiting for a repair to take place.

This extends into why I offer CONCIERGE service for the customers, so that other than placing a phone call, YOUR involvement in the repair process is NON EXISTENT.

I will pick your car up, I will get the parts needed for the repair, I will repair the vehicle, and I will bring it back to you. This all so that you can continue on with your day with minimal interruption.

You say you work 2nd or 3rd shift and literally don't have the time to make it to a dealer without greatly complicating your schedule? Call me, I'll pick the vehicle up after you've arrived at work.

You say you work graveyard and don't get off until 5am? Give me a call, I can help you with that.

Your CONVENIENCE is my NUMBER 1 priority. This tied with a first time repair is successful every time, if you have to bring the car back, that isn't saving you any time.

Just as a friendly reminder I DO accept most major forms of payment, Cash, Card w/magnetic strip, Card w/chip, certified bank checks (no personal checks), and PayPal, however when using PayPal a 10% charge will be added to the ticket total. All other methods are accepted with no additional charge.

WHAT THE HELPFUL WRENCH DOES:

It's very simple, I bring dealership level service and experience to you for a fraction of the cost.

The labor rate is 45/Hr and I use labor manuals as guides for pricing jobs, so you'll be priced the same as any other service center

Parts are then customer supplied meaning no parts markup, if needed I can pick the parts up for you but there is no charge for this service. Parts are not kept in stock for this reason however almost all parts can be acquired within 1-2 business days.

The one service I DO NOT perform is oil changes, simply for the fact that it is impossible for me to compete with any high volume quick l**e center in pricing. I could perform the oil changes but the price would most likely be higher than any other service center, so there is no real benefit to you as a customer.

Aside from this I can help you with most anything you can have go wrong with your vehicle.

Window switch assy replacement for 1997-2005 Mercedes ML class (W163)

These models are prone to failure due to the switch design which relies on copper prongs which become bent down over time and eventually fail to make contact.

It is possibly to gain some extra life by pulling the switch apart and bending the prongs back, but this is just a temporary fix and the only long term solution is to replace the switch assy shown here.
