🔧🚗 ANOTHER ONE DIAGNOSED AT GOOCH AUTOMOTIVE! 🔍

We had this 2016 Chevy Malibu 1.5L come in after the customer had already installed a new vacuum pump, but the problem was still there!

After looking things over, it didn’t take us long to find the culprit. The original vacuum pump had locked up and come apart, causing the reluctor ring to spin and creating the issue. 💥

Now that we’ve tracked down the problem, it’s time to get an estimate put together for the customer and figure out what it’s going to take to get this Malibu fixed and back on the road! 💪

🔥 FINALLY GOT SOME TIME TO WORK ON OUR OWN TRUCK! 🔥

Tonight we made some time to get our personal truck in the shop — a 2011 Ford F-350 6.7 Power Stroke.

We bought this truck knowing it wasn’t running smoothly or quite right, so we’ve been slowly going through it and getting it back in shape.

Tonight’s job was getting the #5 fuel injector replaced. After getting everything back together, we fired it up and now she’s running smooth and sounding much better! 💪🔧

Now that we’ve got the engine running right, we’re going to move on to some basic maintenance and go through the rest of the truck to make sure everything is ready to go.

Sometimes the shop trucks have to wait until after everyone else’s! 😂

🔥 ANOTHER 6.7 CUMMINS IN FOR SOME ENGINE WORK! 🔥

We’ve got another 6.7 Cummins in the shop for some head and engine work! 💪🔧

The customer brought this one in already suspecting a blown head gasket, so we got right to testing it. Sure enough, we confirmed it was putting exhaust gases into the cooling system.

Once we knew what we were dealing with, we got this truck in the shop and started tearing it down. We got the head removed and sent off to the machine shop to be thoroughly tested and milled.

Now we’re just waiting on the head to come back so we can get everything cleaned up, start putting this 6.7 back together, and get it back up and running! 🔥💪

🔥 ANOTHER 6.7 CUMMINS READY TO GO! 🔥

This 2011 Ram 6.7 Cummins came into the shop needing a few things taken care of. It originally came in with an overheating issue and an A/C compressor clutch that had come apart.

Once we got it in the shop and started looking it over, we found a coolant leak coming from the turbo coolant line. Like we always do, while we’re working on a vehicle, we take a little extra time to look things over and check for anything else that may need attention. We let the customer know what we find and let them make the call on what they want to take care of while it’s here.

On this one, we found the ball joints and axle U-joints were worn, so the customer decided to go ahead and get those taken care of too.

We got everything tore apart and went to work:

🔧 Turbo coolant line O-rings
🔧 Upper & lower ball joints — both sides
🔧 Front axle U-joints — both sides
🔧 A/C compressor
🔧 Front differential drained & refilled
🔧 Cooling system refilled
🔧 A/C system evacuated & recharged

Everything is back together, the cooling system is full, the A/C is charged, and this 6.7 Cummins is ready to get back on the road! 💪🔥

🚛🔧 HEAVY-DUTY SERVICE AT GOOCH AUTOMOTIVE! 🔧🚛

This 2006 Kenworth T300 rolled in from Parkland Lumber in Somerset for some much-needed brake work.

We started by replacing the rear brake shoes and drums, then moved on to the steer axle slack adjusters. While we had the truck in the shop, we went ahead and knocked out an oil and filter service as well.

With everything taken care of, we got this Kenworth flatbed buttoned back up and ready to hit the road and get back to work! 💪🚛

We headed over to Parkland Lumber in Eubank the other day to take care of this 2003 International 8500.

We knocked out the removal and installation of the steering gearbox and got this big International back together and ready to get back to work! 🚛🔩

This GMC 1500 came into Gooch Automotive with an overheating issue, so we got right to work diagnosing it and tracking down the problem. After checking everything over, we traced the issue back to a weak water pump. 💦🔧

The customer supplied the parts, and while we had everything apart, we went ahead and replaced the water pump, thermostat, and clutch fan to get the cooling system back in shape. 💪

Everything is back together and this GMC is back up and going! 🚙💨
