Techs and State Inspectors needed. This is a rare opportunity to work for one of the busiest shops in King William. You have the ability to make a very good living here. We pay a flat rate based on Mitchells book time, the more effort you put forward the more earnings you make. We celebrated being open for 7 years in December and this job opening hasn’t come open many times in the past. We welcome Vo-tech students to apply but please make sure we don’t have to retrain you every Monday morning. But please don’t apply if you oversleep, if you complain about every job assigned to you, you have to get ride to work later than the time you are supposed to be here, have flat tires every week, need to have your cell phone in your hand at all times, or do not have a babysitter. You must also remember to show back up after lunch, and please do not expect gold stars for showing up on time and working as you should. Will you make 100k a year being an auto technician? Not unless you put forth the effort. Can you live comfortably as a tech? Yes. Do you like Jeeps? Hope so, because we do. The shop is serviced by all three tool trucks in the area so there is no problem getting tools and having them repaired.

Another one of our things not to do. If you want quality and care bring your vehicle to us. Customer brought in his nice and very well kept Rubicon Wrangler for some front axle seals. We removed the drivers side tire and an 11oz group of weights fell off. Then we looked at the wheel and there was another 1oz of weight where the 11 oz were stuck for a total of 12 oz in one spot. But it gets worse there was 7oz directly across from the 12 oz. So a total of 19 oz. 1 pound 3 oz weight on one wheel. We then used our brand new laser balancer and after rotation balancer asked for tire to be rotated on the wheel. After doing that the tire took 3.5 oz., which is a lot better for a 35x12.50-17. These are 400 a piece tires ruined by a big box store. Bring it to us for the best deals and balancing using the latest equipment available.

Thought we would post a few pictures of today's things not to do. We had a customer bring in a truck another shop had lifted. He told us it rode horrible, was all over the road, and just had an annoying squeak. Also had a mean squat with tires rubbing the fenders in the rear. We started looking at it and found a few things just not right. First of all the front had stacked lifts. There was a 7 inch lift stacked on top of a 3 inch leveling kit. The control arms were in such a bind they rubbed the strut just sitting still. The cv axles were in such a bind they had ripped the boots in just 700 miles. We removed the leveling kit and all of the front suspension geometry was returned to the intended measurements of the lift manufacturer. Now off to the back this was interesting also. There was a 5 inch angled lift block welded to a 2 inch angled lift block. The factory bump stop was 9 inches from the bump stop pad. One side was welded with the angles both forward and one was welded with the angles opposing the other. This set one side wheel back to the rear of the truck and caused it to rub the fender with the slightest compression. To fix this issue and make the truck sit level we added a 1.5 inch add a leaf and a 5 inch block with a bump stop arm. We also had to lower the abs lines that were stretched like a rubber band. So after all this was done we then removed the factory cam locks and did a proper alignment. We put it back on the ground and think we are done. Wrong. We still had the horrible squeak. We search with chassis ear for an hour then found the problem. The rack was rubbing one of the lift brackets. They missed a step in the instructions. So moral of this book is be careful where you take your truck to be lifted.

We are looking to add atleast 1 additional tech to our busy shop. We are a full service shop and state inspection station. We need someone who can work without direction. We pay book time determined by Mitchell's. We have been in business for 6 yrs and the company is growing. Drivers liscense is required. State inspection liscense is a plus.
