Clarification Regarding Vehicle Impounds
We want to clear up some misinformation: we do NOT steal cars.
All American Towing & Tire performs towing and impound services at the direction of Border Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, FHP, FWC, and other authorized agencies. We follow the laws, procedures, and set rates established for these services. We do not make up our own charges or decide who is legally entitled to pick up an impounded vehicle.
For an impounded vehicle, the registered owner is the person legally authorized to retrieve it. If the registered owner cannot pick up the vehicle, they may be able to authorize someone else with the proper notarized documentation or a notarized Power of Attorney, as applicable.
We explain these requirements to everyone who calls because we have to follow the law and the procedures governing the impound.
If an impounded vehicle is not claimed and is eventually sold at auction, that process is governed by the applicable laws and procedures. That is not something our company can simply choose to change.
We understand that being unable to immediately retrieve a vehicle can be frustrating, but we are simply doing our job, following the law, and following the instructions and procedures provided by the agencies we work with.
Everything we do is documented and handled according to the law.
