Same fall. Two very different outcomes.
We dropped a weighted test dummy on two common fall protection setups:
π΄ 6' shock-absorbing lanyard: up to 6 ft of free fall before it engages, plus up to 3.5 ft more while the shock pack deploys. Watch how hard that stop hits.
π’ Self-retracting lifeline (SRL): locks almost instantly and stops the fall near the platform.
The less distance you fall, the less force your body has to absorb, and the less clearance you need below you.
Not sure which setup is right for your crew or jobsite? Our fall protection team can help with equipment, on-site training and clearance planning.
