Overview:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounts payable, inventory, and fixed assets functions and leads a team of five. Reporting to the CFO, this position interacts closely with senior leaders and collaborates cross-functionally to proactively solve problems, maintain accurate financials, and lead change efforts. This is a hands-on role with a company focused on growing organically and through acquisitions. The successful candidate is naturally curious, eager to learn, and able to identify and lead change efforts of new processes and tools. This is an exciting opportunity to make a big impact enabling continued growth.



Key Responsibilities:

Train, mentor, and develop a committed team of A/P and inventory specialists. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and resolving problems.
Manage company A/P process including invoice management, approvals, month end, payment processing, and employee expense reports ensuring suppliers are paid on time and proper controls are in place.
Own all aspects of physical inventory ensuring accurate book value, reconciliations, physical counts, systems and tools.
Maintain and manage fixed assets including approval workflow and monitoring in-process projects, additions, dispositions, and depreciation.
Maintain and manage facility and site leases and subleases. Work with COO and CFO on timely renewals and extensions.
Develop and maintain meaningful metrics for all areas of responsibility.
Responsible for the development and implementation of procedures for all areas of responsibility.
Take a leadership role in evaluating existing processes and procedures for efficacy and efficiency, working cross-functionally to propose and implement updated policies and procedures. Identify improvement opportunities to streamline processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage onboarding of acquired companies across all responsibility areas including integration of new vendors, assets, and inventory.
Direct and oversee financial systems for internal controls across all areas of responsibility.




Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with emphasis in Accounting or Finance, five to seven years related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education required. CPA, CMA and/or MBA is a plus.
Previous supervisory experience.
Petroleum distribution industry experience is a plus or experience with high volume finished goods sales and distribution business.
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles with experience evaluating and adopting effective financial and operational controls
Experience evaluating processes and implementing change, while maintaining proper financial controls, including new systems and tools.
Excellent knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools and ability to leverage current technology for improved processes and reporting.
Innovative and nimble, with an ability to think creatively.
Experience integrating acquisitions.
Experience automating AP and implementing new software.
Must be able to take lead in implementation and automation.
Ability to effectively communicate complex topics and to a diverse audience. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the senior management team, managers, and staff.

Summary

The Account Manager will serve as the primary focal point for assigned accounts, providing access to PetroCard’s full line of products and fuel solutions, informed by customer needs. The successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of the fuels industry and company’s products and capabilities, and demonstrate the ability to create value and access, provide two-way insights and expertise, anticipate new opportunities, and proactively respond to market and industry changes. The ideal candidate for this position will be driven to create value for both PetroCard and our customers by performing the following duties:



Role & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with assigned sales representative in order to assist growth-of-book and provide support and leads for new business.
Proactive liaison between the company and its customers in order to maximize the value of products and services provided.
Make ongoing proactive and reactive customer calls and efficiently promote opportunities and resolve issues to ensure a positive relationship with accounts.
Lead interface with PetroCard’s internal Sales, Supply & Distribution, Finance and Management teams to ensure process, accounting and operational efficiency and integrity.
Proactively share current customer insights and market knowledge within PetroCard organization.
Ensure current contracts are up-to-date, accurate, complete, and in line with contact management policies. Coordinate drafting of new contracts.
Organize and document all communications and account information in CRM and in company intranet files.
Expedite the resolution of customer problems/complaints and track within CRM.
Provide regular progress reports and manage tasks on assigned accounts.
Special projects and reports to be assigned as needed.


Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience with project planning, development and evaluation as well as the ability to meet project deadlines.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and exercise superior judgment to make decisions.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Computer literacy, with demonstrated experience with Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer or equivalent).
Team player with ability to interact effectively cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization.
Strong written and oral communication skills along with the ability to negotiate or influence.
A customer service mindset for both internal and external customers.
Knowledge of the fuels industry.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Ability to lead and deliver results.

As a Lubricants Salesperson, you are responsible for connecting with customers and potential customers to understand their business needs and offer solutions from our line of lubricant products. You will support the division’s efforts to meet its financial targets by selling automotive, commercial, and industrial lubricants to business and industrial establishments and maintaining existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from various sources.
• Cold call and telemarket to potential lubricant customers and maintain opportunities in company CRM database.
• Present lubricant product options using examples and emphasizing key features.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare product orders, including special requests.
• Call on existing customers via telephone calls and visits to maintain accounts as needed.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on key market trends and activities of competitors and recommend actions to counter competitors’ initiatives.
• Recommend sales/value added programs and selling tools.
• Promote and collaborate with other division line sales representatives for cross selling.
• Assist Account Manager with monthly reporting.
• Perform special projects as needed.

Job Requirements
• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; prefer 2+ years sales experience in the transportation industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong “hunter” mentality with experience selling to industrial or commercial establishments.
• Proven record of accomplishment meeting and exceeding quotas.
• Exceptional people skills; an outgoing and persuasive personality is key to success.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using CRM software.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel locally on a regular basis.
