🔧 TWIN-TURBO F-150 | ONE BAD INJECTOR, A LOT OF TROUBLE.

This isn’t your average F-150. Sporting a twin-turbo 5.0L Coyote setup, this truck came to us with a serious fueling issue.

Excessive fuel, rough running, and exhaust popping pointed toward a problem that needed more than just throwing parts at it.

Here’s how we tracked it down. 👇

🔍 Fuel trim analysis showed a major correction on one bank.

🔍 Spark plug inspection revealed cylinder #8 was heavily fuel-fouled compared to the others.

🔍 Borescope inspection showed excessive fuel inside cylinder #8.

🔍 Ignition testing ruled out the coil and spark plug as the cause.

🔍 Injector testing confirmed the aftermarket ID1050 port injector was functioning properly, with no leaks and a good spray pattern.

🎯 The culprit? A factory direct injector stuck OPEN on cylinder #8.

Even with upgraded port injectors, this Coyote still utilizes its factory direct injection system. One failed injector was enough to cause major running issues.

The problem was identified, repaired, and the truck is back in action. 💪

Performance builds require more than performance parts. They require proper diagnostics.

🔧 A BAD BATTERY CAN CAUSE MORE THAN JUST A NO-START!

This Ford Focus came into Boosted Warehouse with an interesting electrical issue.

When we went to pull it into the shop, the battery was dead. After jump-starting it, the vehicle still wouldn’t drive and was throwing low-voltage and transmission communication codes.

⚡ Here’s what we found:

✅ Alternator charging properly at 14.4V

✅ Battery showing voltage, but failing under testing due to high internal resistance and low cold-cranking amps

✅ Parasitic draw tested and within factory specifications

✅ Replaced the faulty battery and addressed the low-voltage issue

The takeaway? Just because a battery shows good voltage doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Modern vehicles rely heavily on stable electrical power, and a failing battery can cause all kinds of strange issues — even ones that appear to be transmission-related.
