I am taking preliminary orders for this two-sided challenge coin that I’ve designed.

The purpose of the coin is two-fold: to immortalize the memory of the Reverend William H. Foster Shihan/Yin Yang Do Karate Association and (on the flip-side) to honor Timothy Hillary Sensei and his class the Tozai Karate Kyokai. Hillary Sensei extended his students to Reverend Foster when Reverend Foster moved to Kenosha and Hillary Sensei was departing for college thereby creating a unique history and melding both groups together.

If you would like to purchase one of these one-of-a-kind coins, they will be $20 apiece. Please reach out to me and I will put you on a list. I hope to have them within the next month or so. Thank you!

I am proud to make this announcement!!
Also to beable to say that I have been connected to these amazing individuals whom I consider family for a good portion of my adult life.

To make it public and official on the evening of December, 20th, 2025 over a video conference from Philyaw Shihan’s new home in Mexico to the Subarbs of Chicago. Rick Cesario Shihan being present to present the following:

Congratulations, you both exemplify the path that Hanshi Koeppel, Rev Foster Shihan, and Philyaw Shihan have paved for us to travel. They are big shoes to fill, pass on what you have been taught:

I am posting this here as Michael Durkin has been a long time friend and student of our art. He is a Corrections Sgt. a loving and caring husband and father. On July,12 2025. members joined to train together in remembrance of the Late William H. Foster Shihan. We trained on the lake front of Lake Michigan in the same spots he taught class at for years.

Scott Herrman Renshi and Pat Weyand Renshi were the guest instructors. We worked on various Uchi No Kata from the Shuri-Te BuJutsu Kai’s curriculum. It was great to see and train with great people and pay our respects to where our art came from thank you to all that came out to train.
