Old vehicles, junk vehicles. If you have a vehicle that you have lost a title for or never had the title. There are ways for it to go away. Or someone has just left it on your property.
1. Impound to a tow company who is an RTTO, This usually has no cost to the property owner. Some towing companies will charge a fee for a regular vehicle. We charge for RV style vehicles / trailers as we have to pay to dispose of them.
2. Title or In lieu of Title form. The In Lieu of Title can be obtained from Department of Licensing or a sub agent like Tri Cities Licensing offices. No need to get a new title to dispose of a vehicle. Then call a scrap yard, a towing company who will remove it. Both of which may charge for the towing service.
3. Junk Vehicle Affidavit: This is a form you can download online, then fill out and have the Local law enforcement sign off on. They will have to come inspect the VIN, check to see if it is stolen and give you the owners information. You then mail the owners last known address with a certified letter (keep proof of this) and then call a towing company or scrap company to tow it away.
This information is for a vehicle on Private Property. If you have a question feel free to call Ken's Auto Rescue during business hours and will try to give you the proper answers.
