A Commercial Body Shop Technician is required to perform a variety of repairs, but not limited to diagnostic procedures and repairs such as :
• Cab/Sheet Metal Repair
• Composite Repair/Bonding
• Surface Preparation
• Fiberglass Repair
• Box Repair/Replacement
Procedures that are not required but a plus:
• Painting
• Welding
• Fabricating (Sheet Metal)
• Heating/Air Conditioning Repair
We measure our body shop technicians on their efficiency to complete quality repairs in time standards. Pay depends on experience level listed below.

We Have Three Levels Of Body Shop Technicians
BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN I EXPERIENCED
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled truck and trailer units
• Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles when necessary
• Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
• 6 years of practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer required
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required
• Current CDL license with air brake certification
• Must have own tools.
BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN II MID-LEVEL
• Perform mechanical, and general appearance reconditioning of truck and trailer equipment.
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• 4 years of practical experience (or an equivalent combination of Related Education And Experience) Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required
• Current CDL is a plus.
• Must have own tools.
BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN III- ENTRY LEVEL-
• Perform the following repairs or replacements:
• Minor electrical system repairs
• Surface preparation for refinishes
• Minor Cab Accessory repair/ replacement
• Minor Cargo Box repairs
• Pick up and delivery of vehicles
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of Relevant Education And Experience) Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Certification of completion of a technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred
• Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required
• Must have own tools.
