New England Transit Sales and W.C. Cressey & Son Merge to Form
One of the Nation’s Most Experienced School Bus Dealer Groups
Tyngsboro, MA – June 5, 2025 – In a move that reshapes the school bus transportation industry in the Northeast, New England Transit Sales, Inc. (NETS) and W.C. Cressey & Son officially merged on June 1, 2025, to form New England Transit LLC. The combined entities are now known as New England Transit LLC, and together create one of the most experienced school bus dealer groups in the United States.
Leveraging its combined expertise, the merger gives New England Transit broader geographic coverage, expanded service capabilities, and the ability to provide innovative financing options for school districts across the Northeast. New England Transit LLC will operate with two subsidiaries: W.C. Cressey, Inc. (in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont) and New England Transit Sales, Inc. (in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island). The leadership teams of W.C. Cressey & Son and NETS will remain involved in day-to-day operations and all existing employees and locations will be maintained in the new organization.

W.C. Cressey & Son was started in 1979 by W. Churchill Cressey and his son George. The business originated as a Thomas Built Buses dealer in Maine and New Hampshire. In the late 90s, the organization grew to become a true full-service dealer offering vehicle leasing, parts delivery and complete service centers. In 2004, Brian Cressey joined his father George, and the third-generation business continued to grow. In recent years it has expanded its sales territory to include Vermont and added service locations in Newport, Vermont and Gorham, New Hampshire. With twenty-one employees, W.C.
