Good morning,

What i saw this morning on the ice was so upsetting. As a person that spends a lot of time at the lake thru out the year I see a lot of disrespect on a lot of levels.

First off what I saw this morning is just plain laziness and disrespect. Literally 25 yards off of the mooring dock at the south launch an ice fisherman let basically all his bait and hand warmers. Then after last nights freeze some things were completely frozen in ice.

Throughout the year the most trash that I see is created by the shore fisherman that walks to secluded spots around the lake, and then leaves their worm containers, minnow containers, Gatorade bottles, beer cans, soda, cans, and cigarette packs plus some other ā€œinteresting itemsā€. Once again just pure laziness and disrespect.

Dog owners- there is a leash law in the state of PA for a reason and also when your dog defecates throughout the park, you are also responsible to clean that up. Once again laziness ļæ¼ and disrespect!!

ļæ¼ Horse owners- love seeing you folks out on the trail, riding your beautiful horses, and when they defecate on the trail, it’s understandable not be able to deal with it. BUT when you take them down to the north launch for a bath, and when they come out and they defecate right on the kayak launch (which is the shore area next to the boat launch) or on the boat launch it self it’s to be expected that you would come back and deal with it just like a dog owner. Laziness and ļæ¼ disrespect!!

Trash- 99% of people coming up to enjoy the lake with a picnic or snacks etc. Use the trash receptacles as they should but what people don’t understand is it is a cost and a lot of work for Lehigh County. So the people that are disrespectful are the ones that come with their cars or ļæ¼ pick up truck beds and empty them out into the trash receptacles- This is not a county dump. This is a state owned, county leased and run park for the residences of Lehigh and surrounding Counties.
ļæ¼

Last and final and most disgusting, disrespectful thing I see year in and a year out is the abuse of the lavatories. I truly cannot understand how any person could go into those lavatories and defecate on the walls, toilets, sinks, and doors. Randy from Lehigh County Parks has gone through hell and back cleaning those out. Especially on hot July or August days (he has no running water to use) so wrap your brain around that.
ļæ¼
I don’t know who’s motherā€˜s teach them to go to the bathroom that way but let me clue you in on something——they taught you wrong!!!
That big hole with a plastic seat looking thing is where u go and the walls are to look at.

At the end of the day, there are State and County employees that are paid (by our tax dollars), volunteers and donors that spend a lot of time, energy and $$$$$ doing things to improve the park for you. What will happen as States have less and less $$$ allocated to Parks and Recreation ļæ¼they will have no choice but to charge us to use the parks!!

If the select few that ruin it for us at the end of the day could just stop being LAZY and ļæ¼ DISRESPECTFUL!!

You wont have to listen to me RANT as i ļæ¼digress.

Leaser Lake Park has become such a great place for us residents and visitors to come enjoy and do a variety of activities.ļæ¼ Can we please try to Respect it and don’t be so Lazy. and here’s a brilliant idea- when your out boating or hiking and you see trash please pick it up!!!

That’s all Folks- enjoy your Sunday!!

Another year, another Hamburg High School Senior Day at Leaser Lake! We welcomed 150 Seniors from Hamburg High School who participated in multiple stations teaching them new and exciting skills for a lifetime. We had kayaks and paddle boards, Leighton Outdoor Center had bikes for a bike tour, Cabelas taught fly fishing and bow. Redners Markets offered snacks, there was an art class, yard games, yoga and a hike! A great day was had by all involved. We want to thank Hamburg's dedicated group of teachers who make this happen. We are proud to be involved!

And if you think your school would benefit from this program, please have a school representative get in touch! We can bring this program to Leaser Lake or to any regional lake close to your school.
