Sunday July 5th was a WFO Promotions Race in Oakford IL. Oakford is a track I have always struggled at some but I went in as ready as I could be. We had a line of 23 AA riders and every one of them is fast. I got off to a really good start and had a lot of fun most of the first lap when most of us kinda rode together. I made a couple mistakes and lost a few positions but settled in around the 8/9 area. Halfway through the last lap I had a small fall and the bike landed on my ankle just right. I knew instantly it wasn’t good. Huge thank you to everyone who stopped and checked on me and especially Chris Huffman who stopped his race to get me back to the pits. I ended up breaking my ankle with surgery later this week. I’ll be impatiently waiting for the all clear to get back out there.
