I have to give credit to my nephew Clayton… this young man is 19 years old he bought this 76 Scottsdale K 10 when he is 15 him and his mom wanted to know if it was worth it. I still think it is today, but I told them this misfire could be as simple as it needs a tuneup and it could be as catastrophic as it has a flat cam in it unfortunately, for this young man, he rolled the dice on the truck and indeed it was worst case scenario it wound up having a flat cam upon further diagnosing after the purchase of the truck, but I have to say he has been incredibly patient to set another engine in there. He has a couple of trucks that he is kept going or gotten going over the years, but I know in the back of his head, orange crush has been screaming at him this whole time to get a motor in it and rip up some MMR‘s and today we got the chance to set a 305 in there we didn’t get it finished. I don’t believe it’s to be anything special as far as being built, but it will get the truck moving and he’ll be able to have some fun good job Clayton

Ran into a gentlemen by the name of Rick Bauer, who I’ve heard a lot about and is involved with the car shows around Kearney, Elm Creek area who I’ve heard the name before, but got a chance to meet him today and he was kind enough to let me snap some pictures of his 73 Mach 1 Mustang and showed me around the car. He also told me about some of the features his car had back in the day such as the 2+2 that Ford thought about to where you could fold the rear seat down and haul lumber with it if you didn’t have a truck. Him and his wife were headed out on a 600 mile cruise. Wishing them lots of smiles per gallon, a good time, safe travels and a safe return home.

Working on “Poppa John’s”Truck… 90 F150 1/2 ton 2X4 with an old school 302 under the hood… Someone ditched the EFI on this truck for a Rochester Dueljet with a cast iron intake… Which surprisingly is very responsive out of the hole, however is running out of fuel/air when reaching Highway speeds… I rebuilt a Holley 550 vac secondary with a mechanical choke for it … it wound up having a more modern intake manifold that we couldn’t adapt to… So he got an aluminum dual plane Edelbrock intake for it that we bolted on yesterday along with the carb that bolted right to it… Didn’t get it buttoned up last night but there will be a finished post later today with any luck!
