Here’s what it looks like when a poor quality cheap set of fuel injectors from Amazon. Customer replaced injectors trying to save money. Number 3 injector stuck wide open. It filled the cylinder with fuel, caused hydraulic lock up issues, washed down cylinders, flooded cylinders 1 and 5 causing all three cylinders to misfire heavily. Contaminated crankcase oil and compromised all lubricated by oil parts. It was pumping raw fuel out of the muffler leaving a huge puddle of fresh fuel during the diagnosis phase. Customer is so lucky that there wasn’t major engine damage. This is after the cylinders were dried out, all 8 injectors replaced with high quality parts and oil changed. The smoking took about 15 miles of driving to burn out of the exhaust. After clearing computer fuel control adaptives and driving for 30 miles the computer finally took proper control and truck ran great. This is a 2011 5.7 Hemi Ram Bighorn. It has new camshaft, lifters, valve job and head gaskets and a hellcat high volume oil pump. I did all the big engine work after customer replaced injectors in an attempt to fix the miss fire in cylinder 5. The original miss fire was caused by a flat intake camshaft lobe and failed roller lifter. Big problem for the 5.7. The injector failed 100 miles after big repair. Amazon is great for lots of things BUT be very careful buying car parts. This is the second time that I’ve seen big problems from Amazon injectors.
