We were grateful for the opportunity to be with the Diesel Technicians of tomorrow at Hillyard Technical Center in St. Joseph, MO, yesterday! Special shout out to Chad Dudley who's doing a great job there both in the classroom and the lab. Always good to see high school students already getting hands-on experience with diesel engines and more!

We have a full time opening for a hands-on inventory specialist role! The Inside/Outside Inventory Technician will conduct an inspection on purchased units and verify information from our team of Salvage Buyers. This role will also update salvage specs and pictures in our inventory system and identify the condition of various components (body parts, drive train, crash parts, etc.). This position will work outdoors on a regular basis as well as indoors entering the appropriate data into our inventory management system.

Strong computer skills (tablet and/or desktop) and a high level of attention to detail are required for this position! Prior working experience with heavy duty trucks (Class 6 - 8) is preferred, but not required. Vander Haag's is willing to provide the necessary training for the right candidate.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

Compensation: This position pays an hourly base compensation + overtime. Pay is dependent on experience and can range from $18.00 up to $23.00 for qualified candidates. Compensation is dependent upon experience level.

This position will lead efforts to increase Vander Haag's market share and develop new business opportunities in & around the Kansas City area. There will be opportunities to work closely with other leaders within the organization to develop strategies focused on market share growth, customer satisfaction, and growth of the facilities in the Kansas City location.

General duties include:
• Planning and successfully conducting on-site visits to end use customers.
• Establishing relationships with new customers within the assigned area.
• Strengthening relationships with existing customers and identifying additional sales opportunities.
• Analyzing sales data and coordinating with the General Manager and Parts Manager to create a focused outside sales plan for customer visits.
• Participating in trade show and conventions while working in conjunction with other sales staff and marketing team members.
• Identifying & developing new opportunities for all of Vander Haag's product lines.
• Promoting used, rebuilt, and new truck parts, equipment, and whole unit sales.

Some prior sales experience in the trucking or construction equipment industry is preferred.

Vander Haag's Inc. is growing! We have an opportunity for a full time over-the-road Truck Driver/Recovery Expert. In this position, you will be responsible to pick up wrecked trucks with a pro tote or flatbed trailer from storage lots, ensure that trucks & loose parts being towed are secure, and deliver the wrecked units to our various store locations. This position will primarily make runs throughout the Midwest. Home every weekend with some opportunity to be home during the week depending on schedule and workload. Prior tow truck and/or recovery experience is preferred. Class A CDL license is required.

We have a full-time opportunity to join our growing sales team at our location in Kansas City, MO! We are currently searching for a motivated individual to sell used trucks as well as new and used trailers.

This position will be responsible for the sale of trucks and trailers by direct contact, incoming calls, prospecting, and internet requests. This individual will also need to have the ability to obtain information and pictures on units to be used for appraisals, reconditioning costs, and determining retail market values.

Prior experience in the heavy-duty truck/trailer industry is preferred, but not required.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday mornings by rotation.

Compensation: This position pays a base salary + an uncapped commission that is paid on a monthly basis. Typical annual compensation for this position ranges from $60,000/year to $100,000+/year.
