Before students ever get behind the wheel, they spend time just getting to know the yard: where the trucks are staged, what each piece of equipment is for, and how the space is laid out for drills.

New students usually describe their first few weeks the same way: busier than expected.

The first week is spent almost entirely in the classroom, covering regulations and vehicle systems, before training moves into the yard for hands-on practice with backing, pre-trip inspections, and more.

There's a lot to take in along the way, but by the end of it, something usually feels a little more familiar than it did the day before.
