To keep blood-sugar levels under control try eating fiber rick foods like apples and pears and drink plenty of water. Also stopping for decent sit down meals can work wonders for keeping levels stable.

Ohio State University did a study that found when drivers took more scenic drives to and from work it lowered their stress levels drastically. So when possible try to add some more trees to your daily drive.

Use Your Eyes!
One of the worst driving habits is not looking farther ahead. Most people tend to focus on the road right in front of their vehicle or the bumper of the car in front of them when driving in traffic. This is a great way to end up in an accident. Next time you get behind the wheel, try focusing father ahead. Like when you are going into a turn, don't focus on the turn, focus on the exit or past the turn. Your peripheral vision will keep you on the road.

When was the last time you got your hot rod up to 70mph for 10 miles or farther? Here in the Flathead that can definitely be a challenge. But did you know that not running your vehicle at a higher speed isn't doing it any service?! According to studies, if you run your vehicle for at least 10 miles at 70mph it evaporates any water & gas buildup in the engine & exhaust system. So here's one more reason to get out of town for a hot second!!

Be Careful on Country Roads!!
Did you know that rural roads have a 2.5 times higher mortality rate than most other roads in the US?! This is mostly due to lack of lighting, lack of proper signage, and higher percentage of drunk drivers (driving back roads home under the influence to avoid cops... not your safest bet). So next time your are on a country/rural road slow down and be mindful.

Studies show that they higher you have your seat while driving the more likely you are to feel like you are driving slower. There for many people who drive trucks or even SUVs tend to drive faster and are more prone to rolling. If you always feel like a tortoise when driving the speed limit, try lowering your seat.

It's All About The Mirrors!!
Ever get a crick in your neck from trying to see around a blind spot in your car?! Try this mirror adjustment trick from the hosts of NPR's Car Talk:
Set your rear view mirror where you normally would but then tilt it up just slightly until you have to sit up straight for a clear view.
For your side mirrors; Lean your head against your driver side window and adjust the left mirror so you can see the back corner of your car. Then lean your head to the right and adjust to the same.
