Yes, we are looking at episode 40 about to go off!
So I over the last year, we'd see some lava spurting, then BOOM within hours!
But last couple eruptions, lava bubbled up a bit for much longer (a day or two) before the fountain.
So, when exactly do you go?

Ok. This probably sounds weird but my favorite breakfast place in town is Denny's. . Yes, Denny's!
Mind you, I'm local.
Staff is great, food is always hot. They have outside seating with a view of the ocean.
That said-
They are open for Christmas and have a holiday menu. (I took a photo today)

, stars do not twinkle on the summit of Mauna Kea because the extremely stable atmosphere above the mountain's high altitude (over 13,000 feet) minimizes atmospheric turbulence, which is the cause of twinkling. While humans experience twinkling even in the clear skies of Mauna Kea, the telescopes there use sophisticated technology called adaptive optics to counteract the remaining atmospheric distortion, allowing for incredibly sharp images.
