I Founded Wheels Helping Heores when my loving husband was injured in the line of duty after 25 plus years of serving the community as a Firefighter/Paramedic and retiring(disabled)from his Lieutenant position. He had recently become a father to our son prior to becoming 100% disabled. This is when I decided to to take things into my own hands. As a Registered Nurse myself for 20 plus years, I dec
ided instead of asking people for donations, that I would put together giveaways. For those who do not know, those web sites that people donate money to, take from eight percent and much higher of the total donations. I have chosen to give away items that individuals would not normally go buy themselves, the giveaways are attached to a ticket confirmation number to one of our events/meet and greets. We then give directly to individuals, organizations that need assistance. We attempt to keep this to individuals that serve the community,(Firefighters,Paramedics,Law Enforcement, Nurses) Although it is not strictly limited to any of the listed(and it is also not limited to just our two legged member of service. We believe in taking care of our four legged fur brother and sisters too). My Husband has made himself a promise that he would not let this defeat him, and more importantly he would not let this take him from his family. So I have made a promise that I would do everything possible to make his treatments current and future possible for him.
