Ready, Set, Tag! Oklahoma’s new vehicle pre-registration process is now required and dealerships will submit pre-registration information on all recently purchased vehicles.

Ten Days: Oklahomans will have ten days from the purchase date to place a metal license plate and two pre-registration decals on their vehicles.
Two Months: Oklahomans still have two months from the date of sale to complete registration by paying tag, title and tax for their motor vehicles.

Ready, Set, Tag! Starting Sept. 1, 2024, there is a new pre-registration process required for all recently purchased vehicles in Oklahoma, allowing licensed operators to provide you with a metal license plate quickly whether you’re buying from a dealership or private seller. This change comes in response to Senate Bill 2035, the Mason Treat Act, aimed at enhancing road safety and efficiency for all Oklahomans.

What’s changing? Starting Sept. 1, 2024:
